Obituary

Niagara: Haven J. Ready age 94, of Niagara, Wisconsin died Saturday November 15, 2003 at Manorcare Health Services in Kingsford, Michigan. Haven was born on November 6, 1909, in Byron, Minnesota son of the late Charles and Anna (Staples) Ready. Haven grew up in Byron, Minnesota and graduated from Byron High School in 1927. He married Irene Burbey on September 3, 1938, in Niagara, Wisconsin. Irene preceded him in death on February 16, 1991. Haven worked for the Kimberly Clark Corporation in Niagara, Wisconsin, from 1927 until 1972 when he retired. He enjoyed hunting deer, rabbits, partridge, pheasants and turkeys and bagged some trophy bucks over the years. Haven also enjoyed gardening, wine making, raising and taking care of his honey bees and especially spending time with his many grandchildren and great grandchildren. Haven is a loving father and grandfather of, one son Haven (Paula) Ready of Mercer Island, Washington, one daughter Gail Prudhomme of Aurora, WI , many grandchildren and their families which include Melanie (Michael) Sarder of Niagara, WI. and their children Jeremy, Megan and Jordan; Mark (Heidi) Prudhomme of Aurora, WI. and their family, Ryan and Tatyana; Susan (Rob) Nelson of Elmhurst, IL., and their family Natalie and R.J.; Cheryl Covell of Kansas City, MO.; Michelle DeCremer of Niagara, WI. and her children, Aaron, Miranda, Bethany and Ronald III; Tricia (Heath) Kelley of El Sobrante, CA., and their daughter Devon; Wayne Knerr of Mercer Island, Washington, and three great great grandchildren. He was a loving brother to his sister Virginia (Domenic) Spigarelli of Iron Mtn. MI. and brother -in- law of June Occhietti of Iron Mountain, MI. Haven is preceded by seven brothers: Joseph, Harold, George, Paul, Lloyd, Ernest and Lyle Ready as well as four sisters: Ethel Distad, Jennie Schlief, Dorothy Buehler and Nettie Anderson, and a son-in-law Dennis Prudhomme. Visitation will be Friday, November 21, 2003, from 12:00PM until 1:30PM at St. Anthony's Catholic Church in Niagara, Wisconsin. Funeral Services will be Friday 1:30PM at St. Anthony's Church. Fr. Michael Betley will officiate. Burial will be in Niagara Cemetery. Memorials can be made to the Niagara Area Citizens Scholarship Foundation in the memory of Haven and Irene Ready.
