Harry Beach, age 88, of Florence, Wisconsin, went to be with the Lord, Thursday, July 20, 2006, at Dickinson County Healthcare System in Iron Mountain, Michigan.
He was born March 3, 1918, in Wausaukee, Wis., son of the late Dolphus and Adah (Betts) Beach. He married Lillian Hilburg October 6, 1948. She preceded him in death.
He served in the United States Army during World War II, from 1941 – 1945. He was employed as a hydro plant operator for Wisconsin Electric/WE Energies. Harry was an active member of St. John's Evangelical Lutheran Church, and also a life member of the Florence VFW Post 3635.
Survivors include a step-daughter, Marilyn (William) Parker, Florence; one sister Alice Mueller; three granddaughters, Karlyn (Randy) Osterberg, Renee (James) Kanyuh, Leanne (Claude) Wilcox; seven great grandchildren; four great great grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Besides his parents and wife Lillian, Harry was preceded in death by four brothers, Edwin, Marvin, Claude, Orville Beach; and one sister Jeanette Bright.
Visitation will be Saturday, July 22, 2006, 10:00 -11:00 a.m. at St. John's Evangelical Lutheran Church in Florence, Wis. Funeral services will be at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, at
the church. Pastor James Backus will officiate. Burial will be in Commonwealth Cemetery.
