Harold Lee Westman, 78, of Homestead, Wis., passed away Monday, December 28, 2009, at Dickinson County Memorial Hospital, Iron Mountain.
He was born July 20, 1931, in Homestead, Wis., son of the late Arvid and Elizabeth (Schuirmann) Westman. Harold married Alice Vassar on June 11, 1955, in Homestead.
Harold was a veteran of the Korean War having served in the United States Army and was a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post No. 3635, Florence. He was a founder of the Homestead Volunteer Fire Department and was a member for over 20 years. Harold and his wife, Alice, owned and operated a dairy farm in the Homestead area for many years.
He is survived by his wife, Alice Westman; two sons, Robert (Valerie) Westman, Scott (Kim) Westman both of Homestead; two daughters, Wanda (Jack) Ellis, Aurora, Lisa (Robert) Nowicki, Ontonagon, Mich.; ten grandchildren, two great-grandchildren, other relatives and friends.
Harold was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Robert Westman.

Visitation will be Thursday, December 31, 2009, from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. at Jacobs-Lundholm Funeral Home, Florence. The funeral service will be 4:00 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home. Rev. Douglas Johnson will officiate.
