Pembine:
Harlin F. Stoveken, age 71, of Pembine, Wis., passed away Tuesday, May 16, 2006, at ManorCare Health Service in Kingsford, Mich.
He was born October 16, 1934, in Pembine, Wis., son of the late Joyce and Jeanette (Mattison) Stoveken. He married Rita French, May 25, 1974, in Pembine, Wis.
Harlin was a lifelong resident of Pembine, graduating from Pembine High School. He served in the U.S. Army. He was employed at Kremlin Mining Company (ISP), and worked there for over 40 years, retiring in 1996. Harlin enjoyed gardening, fishing, woodworking, and spending time with his family and friends.. He was a member of the First Pentecostal Church in Norway, Mich.
Survivors include his wife, Rita; one daughter Sara (Will) Niven, Dunbar, Wis.; one brother Neal Stoveken, Milwaukee, Wis.; two sisters Margaret (Tom Davey) Kleivo, Waterford, Wis., Norma (Milt) Shallock, Iron Mountain, Mich.; and two grandchildren Andrew and Samuel at home in Dunbar.
Besides his parents, Harlin was preceded in death by a brother John Stoveken.
Visitation will be Wednesday, May 24, 2006, 10 – 11a.m. at Jacobs Funeral Homes in Iron Mountain, Mich. Memorial Services will be Wednesday, at 11:00 at the funeral home. Pastor E. R. Crider will officiate. Burial will be in Pembine Cemetery.
