Obituary

Gregory "Greg" M. Jessen, 49, Green Bay, died after a courageous battle with cancer on Sunday, October 28, 2012, with his loving family and friends at his side. He was born April 19, 1963, in Iron Mountain, son of Mary (LaPorte) and the late John W. Jessen. Greg was a 1981 graduate of Florence High School. He was an alumnus of Marquette University, and was an avid Warrior fan. Greg had a long career in broadcasting beginning in Iron Mountain at K Rock. He later went on to broadcast in Milwaukee, Lower Michigan, and Cumulus Broadcasting Company where he worked for many years as a manager, and most recently at Merrill Lynch. On April 21, 2012, Greg married Vana Kokkinos at the Annunciation Greek Orthodox Church in Kalamazoo, Mich. He was an avid Packer fan, and a season ticket holder. Greg also loved boating, which he enjoyed doing throughout Wisconsin. He is survived by his loving wife, Vana; two children, Andrew and Kyle Jessen, Green Bay; one brother, John (Laurie) Jessen, Quinnesec, Mich.; mother, Mary Jessen, Spread Eagle, Wis., in-laws, Elliot (Tessie) Kokkinos, Portage, Mich.; former spouse, Pam Jessen, Green Bay; many uncles, aunts, cousins, and two nephews, John M. and Jay (Godson); and his canine companion, Jersey. He was blessed to have been welcomed into his wife Vana's large Greek family. He was preceded in death by his father. The visitation will be Saturday, November 10, 2012, from 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. at Jacobs-Lundholm Funeral Home, Florence. The memorial service will be held 11:00 a.m., Saturday November 10, 2012, at the funeral home. Rev. Douglas Johnson will officiate. Burial will be in Woodlawn Cemetery, Florence.
