Grace V. Walters, 86, of Iron Mountain, passed away Wednesday, August 20, 2014, at Dickinson County Healthcare System, Iron Mountain.
She was born January 24, 1928, in Breitung Township, daughter of the late Steven and Catherine (Hellker) Cuggino.
Grace was the youngest of ten children and a lifelong resident of the area. She attended Breitung Township Schools and began working at a young age. Grace began her career at Edie's Lunch during WWII. She then worked at G&G Lunch and Betty's Supper Club in Spread Eagle for 28 years until the supper club was sold in 1972. In 1973, she went to work for the Riverside Club in Spread Eagle for 4 years, the Stables Restaurant on the north side of Iron Mountain and the Mine Shaft.
Grace enjoyed cooking, camping, gardening and having coffee with friends.
Grace is survived by one sister, Ethel (Richard) Gallup, Pa.; very special friend of many years, Pat Arrowood, Iron Mountain and many nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by four brothers, Carl, Steven, John and Edwin Cuggino; four sisters, Edith Campbell, Mary Cuggino , Alvina Duchaine and Helen Ghere.
A memorial talk will be given on Saturday, September 13, 2014, 1:00 p.m. at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses, Kingsford, Mich. David Carpenter will preside.
The family has chosen the Jacobs Funeral Home, Iron Mountain to honor Grace's Legacy of Life.
