Glenn E. Turner, 66, of Norway, Mich., passed away Friday, August 10, 2007, at Dickinson County Memorial Hospital, Iron Mountain, Mich.
He was born February 26, 1941, in Monroe, Mich., son of the late Louis and Sarah (Golden) Turner.
Glenn worked in several school districts in the Upper Peninsula as a principal and teacher. He retired in 2002, after serving as teacher in the Powers/Spalding School District. Glenn worked at Wal-Mart for a short period of time after retirement.
He enjoyed reading, movie trivia, and spending time with his grandchildren.
Glenn is survived by three sons, Charles (Judy) Turner, Medina, Ohio, Steven Turner, Rapid City, S.D., Todd (Heidi) Turner, Iron Mountain; one daughter, Stephenie, Ga.; two sisters, Mary Alice (Claude) Coin, Grand Rapids, Mich., Pearl Smith, Monroe, Mich.; grandchildren, Jacob, Grace, Claire, Tyler, Brooklyn, Dawson, Shaun, Halanah, Brittany, and two out-of-state grandchildren; very special friend, Joanne Gendron, Norway; numerous nieces and nephews.
Besides his parents, Glenn was preceded in death by one daughter, Laura Turner; and one sister, Violet.
Visitation will be Monday, August 13, 2007, from 4:00 to 5:00 pm, at the Jacobs Funeral Home, Iron Mountain. The funeral service will be 5:00 pm, Monday. Pastor James Britt will officiate. Additional services will be held Wednesday, August 15, 2007, from 10:00 to 11:00 am, at the Bennett & Prochnow Funeral Home, Monroe. Burial will be in Rose Lawn Memorial Park, Monroe.
