Gladys Bartels, 93, of Niagara, Wis., passed away Thursday, October 9, 2008, at her home.
She was born October 13, 1914, if Free Soil, Michigan. Gladys was raised in Free Soil and attended school there. She married William Bartels, he preceded her in death in 1941.
Gladys enjoyed crocheting, sewing, fishing, and spending time with her family and friends. She also loved to garden. Gladys had beautiful flower, fruit and vegetable gardens.
She is survived by four sons, Rhinehart (Maxine) Bartels, Beaver, Wis., William Bartels, Shawano, Wis., Ernest (Elaine) Bartels, Niagara, Frank Bartels, Hurricane, Utah; one daughter, Ethelyn (Alfred) Tewel, Dunbar, Wis.; many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews.
Gladys was preceded in death by her parents; husband, William; one daughter, Margaret Bartels; four brothers; and one sister.

Visitation will be Monday, October 13, 2008, from 9:30 a.m. to 11:00 a.m., at Jacobs Funeral Home, Niagara Chapel. The funeral service will be Monday, 11:00 a.m. at the funeral home. Rev. David Anderson will officiate. Burial will be in Pembine Cemetery, Pembine, Wis.
