Gildo Marchi
CRYSTAL FALLS — Gildo Marchi, 89, of 311 Fairbanks St., Crystal Falls, died Monday, Aug. 5, 2002, at Iron County General Hospital in Iron River.
Gildo was born May 17, 1913, in Blaney, Mich., son of the late Louis and Mary (Stockero) Marchi. He attended school in Crystal Falls.
He served in the U.S. Army during World War II.
Gildo worked many years in Chicago as a custodian at a local elementary school. After retiring from there, he moved back to Crystal Falls.
He was a member of Guardian Angels Catholic Church in Crystal Falls.
Gildo is survived by two brothers, Tilio of Crystal Falls and John (Katherine) Marchi of Crystal Falls, and a sister, Angeline Lusyk of Illinois.
He was preceded in death by four brothers, Olento, Angelo, Joseph and Henry, and a sister, Dorothy Marchi.
Visitation will be from 10:30 a.m. to 11 a.m. Friday at the Jacobs-Plowe Funeral Home in Crystal Falls.
Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Friday at the funeral home. Fr. Ray Zeugner will officiate.
Burial will be in Hematite Township Cemetery in Amasa.
