Gilbert A. Pruss, age 73, of Fence, Wis., passed away Sunday, February 18, 2007, at Dickinson County Healthcare System, Iron Mountain. He was born July 18, 1933, in Chicago, Ill., son of the late Anthony and Laura Pruss. Gilbert grew up in Chicago and graduated from Crane Technical High School. He went on to serve in the US Navy and upon being honorably discharged from the service, returned to Chicago. Gilbert attended the University of Illinois where he received a Bachelor of Science Degree. He worked in the Chicago area for many years in the electrical field before moving to Fence in 1992. Gilbert owned and operated GM Manufacturing Company in Goodman, Wis., which he operated until the present time. He enjoyed the many animals at his home and the fish that he planted in his pond. He truly loved the outdoors. He is survived by one son, Armondo Fabela, Fence, and numerous friends. Besides his parents, Gilbert was preceded in death by a sister Valerie.
