Channing:
Gerald Slezak, age 70, of Channing, died Friday, November 25, 2005, at his home, of an apparent heart attack.
He was born March 9, 1935, in Detroit Michigan, son of Walter and Celia (Fabien) Slezak. On July 30, 1995, he married Betty Taube, and she survives.
Gerald served four years in the US Navy. He moved to Chicago where he was the owner of a moving company. He loved the U.P. of Michigan and eventually moved to Channing and worked as a transit truck/bus driver. Gerald was a pilot and his hobbies were flying, boating and fishing.
He was the beloved husband of Betty, father of Linda Palmer of Channing, and was also survived by three grandchildren, two great-grandchildren, a niece and several nephews.
There will be no visitation and a Memorial Service will be announced at a later date.
Gerald was a lover of dogs and memorials can be made in his name to the Spring Lake Humane Society, W8459 Shelter Drive, Iron Mountain, MI 49801
