Iron Mountain: Georgette M. Rovge, age 80, of Iron Mountain, passed away, Saturday, June 10, 2006, at her daughter's home in Iron Ridge, Wis. She was born August 20, 1925, in Iron Mountain, Michigan, the daughter of the late Fadel and Mary (Swor) George, Sr. She married George Rovge on December 24, 1951, in Vulcan, Michigan. He preceded her in death on July 19, 2002. Georgette attended Iron Mountain Schools and graduated from Iron Mountain High School in 1944. She and George moved to Milwaukee in 1964, and resided there until moving back to Iron Mountain in 2002. She was a member of St. Mary Orthodox Church. Some of her hobbies were knitting, gambling, crossword puzzles and cake decorating. Survivors include one son, Duane (Jean Witte) George, Oshkosh, Wis; two daughters Susan (Michael) Stadler, Winneconne, Wis., Allison (Charles) Wickert, Iron Ridge, Wis; two brothers Fadel (Mary) George, Iron Mountain, Dr. Robert (Cheryl) George, Pittsburgh, Pa; one sister Rose (Ray) Sovey, Iron Mountain; five grandchildren Janel, Alan, Keri, Kyle, Kelly; and two great grandchildren Alexis and Jack. Besides her parents and husband, George, Georgette was preceded in death by one son Alan Rovge in 2002; one sister, Charlotte Gustafson; and one granddaughter Tina Wickert. Visitation will be Saturday, June 17, 2006, 9 – 11 a.m. at Jacobs Funeral Home in Iron Mountain. Funeral services will be at 11:00 a.m at the funeral home. Fr. Mark Hagan will officiate.
