George Zeek Johnson, 66, of Sagola, Mich., passed away Thursday, September 10, 2009, at his home.
He was born June 11, 1943, in Bark River, Mich., son of the late Viggo and Martha (Burnham) Johnson. George was active in the United States Army as a cook for 13 years, serving in Vietnam, Korea, and Okinawa.
George enjoyed cooking, hunting, camping, gardening, playing pool, and playing Canasta.
He is survived by six children, Debra Sue Johnson, Jeffery Allen Johnson, Aaron Johnson, Jeremy Paul Johnson, John Greer, Grace Antoinette Johnson; four brothers, Robert Allen Burnham, LeRoy Clarence Johnson, Roy Gale (Jeneatte) Johnson, Patrick (Karol) Deiter; two sisters, Ann Marie (Daniel) Hanel, Loretta (Norbert) Beauchamp; one step-sister, Murial Deiter; and one step-brother, Albert Joseph (Millie) Deiter.
George was preceded in death by one son, William George Johnson; and three brothers, Jerome Hans Johnson, Clark Arnold Johnson, and Earl Joseph Deiter.
