Dunbar
George P. Fessler, age 77, of Dunbar, Wis., passed away Saturday, November 26, 2005, at his home.
He was born March 17, 1928, in Evanston, Ill., son of the late Peter and Joanna (Schaudt)
Fessler. On June 27, 1953, he married Irmtraud Rebstein in Evanston, Ill. She preceded him in death on April 19, 1977.
George served in the United States Army from November 1950, to October 1952. He worked for Portland Cement Association in Skokie, Ill, and Northwestern University as a tool and die instrument maker in Evanston, Ill. He moved to Dunbar, Wis., in September of 2004. George was a member of the First Presbyterian Church in Pembine. Some of his hobbies were fishing, canoeing, boating, the outdoors, and bowling.
Survivors include his friend and companion for over 20 years, Carol Finnel, a brother Richard (Kathleen) Fessler of Fountain Hills, Ariz., two sisters-in-law Malita Ward of Lake Forest, Ill., Gisela Bauer of Champaign, Ill, and a special friend Marilyn Ward of Elmhurst, Ill., and many nieces and nephews.
Besides his parents and wife Irmtraud, George was preceded in death by a brother Alfred Fessler.
Visitation will be Saturday, December 10, 2005 from 1:00 – 1:30p.m. at the First Presbyterian Church in Pembine, Wisconsin. A Memorial Service will be held at 1:30p.m. at the Church. Pastor Fred Wadsworth will officiate.
