Iron Mountain: George Ellis, 52, of 704 West B Street, Iron Mountain, MI., died Wednesday, September 3, 2003, at St. John's Regional Health Care in Springfield, Missouri while traveling with his family. George was born on May 25, 1951 in Crystal Falls, Michigan son of Norbert and Betty (Nowack) Ellis. George grew up and attended Iron Mountain High School. He served in the U.S. Marines during the Vietnam War serving from 1969 until 1972. After being honorably discharged from the service George worked for a few years for the U.S. Post Office. He married Lori Fink on April 20, 2002 at Our Redeemers Lutheran Church in Kingsford. George enjoyed many hobbies including; traveling, golfing, playing pool, and the piano. George was also the world's number one Packer Fan. He was an active member of the American Legion Uren-Cooper-Johnson Post 50 of Iron Mountain, the D.A.V. and V.F.W. He is survived by, his wife Lori. His mother Betty Ellis of Haslett, MI. One son Cal Hale who lives at home. Four daughters Amanda Ellis and Roz Ellis both of Lansing, Marilee Ellis of Fort Meyers, FL., Robin Ellis of Clearwater Beach, FL. One step son Buchanan Willoughby of Ketchikan, Alaska. One step daughter, Raeanon (Derek) Schmid of Imperial Beach, CA. 8 Brothers, 3 Sisters, 5 grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. Visitation will be Wednesday September 10, 2003 from 2-4PM at the Jacobs Funeral Home in Iron Mountain. Funeral services will be Wednesday September 10, 2003 4PM at the Jacobs Funeral Home in Iron Mountain. Rev. Martin Koeller will officiate.
