Genevieve"Gen" Dario, 94, of Iron Mountain, passed away Tuesday, January 18, 2011, at ManorCare Health Services, Kingsford. She was born on November 16, 1916, in Iron Mountain, daughter of the late Angelo and Romona (Tomasi) Bevilacqua. Gen attended Iron Mountain Schools and was a lifelong resident of the area. She married Donald Dario in 1933; he preceded her in death in November of 1973. Gen was an active member of the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church and bible study group. She worked many years as a volunteer for the election board and the St. Vincent de Paul Society. She is survived by one daughter, Darlene (Richard) Dixon, Jackson, Mich.; two brothers, Robert (Carol) Bevilacqua, Iron Mountain, Benjamin (Janice) Bevilacqua, Kingsford; one sister, Sharon (Joe) Warren, Iron Mountain; six grandchildren, Donald (Heidi) Olson, Daniel (Peggy) Olson, Michael Olson, Mary Beth (Henry) Ford, Laura Shehan, Lisa (Keith) Baker; nine great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; a special niece, Gail Danielson, Iron Mountain; and many other nieces and nephews. Gen was preceded in death by one daughter, Joan Nelson; two brothers, Joseph and John Bevilacqua; three sisters, Alyce Farmer, Margaret Taylor, and Virginia Hooper; and one granddaughter, Paula Olson. Visitation will be Saturday, January 22, 2011, from 9:00 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. at the Jacobs Funeral Home, Iron Mountain. Prayers will be recited Saturday 10:30 a.m. at the funeral home. The Mass of Christian Burial will be held Saturday 11:00 a.m. at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church. Rev. Fr. Raymond Valerio will officiate. Burial will be in Cemetery Park, Iron Mountain.
