Gene Allan "Beanno" Bendick, 66, of Crystal Falls, passed away Wednesday, March 27, 2013, at his home with his family by his side. He was born May 18, 1946, in Crystal Falls, son of the late Louis and Marie (Schindler) Bendick. Beanno joined the United States Army in 1966, and was honorably discharged in 1968. He painted with his father throughout his life and was employed with the Michigan Department of Transportation (State Highway Department) from 1968 until his retirement at age 50. Beanno loved the outdoors, hunting, fishing, trapping, gardening, and other activities with family and friends. He was a proud man with a big heart and tried to help anyone that needed it. Beanno will be greatly missed and remembered by family and friends. He is survived by his wife Joyce (Whitman) Bendick; two children, Timothy (Debi Zukowski) Bendick, Shannon Bendick; two grandsons, Timothy Ian Bendick and Ronald Nicholas DuBois; several nieces, nephews, one great-niece, and two great-nephews.
