Gary A. Wolff, 75, of Niagara, Wis., passed away Wednesday, August 11, 2010, at his home surrounded by family and loved ones.
He was born February 5, 1935, in Norway, Mich., son of the late Emil and Ruth (Chapman) Wolff. Gary married the former Nora Mason on November 5, 1955, in Chicago, Ill.; she survives.
Gary grew up in Niagara before moving to Chicago. He resided in Chicago and worked for the Kenilworth Police Department, Kenilworth, Ill., for thirty years. Gary served as Chief of Police for ten years before retiring in 1995. He then moved back to Niagara Township where he and Nora owned and operated Shamrock Farm raising whitetail deer.
He enjoyed remote control planes and woodworking. Gary was also very mechanical and liked fixing cars. He could do a little bit of everything.
Gary is survived by his wife, Nora Wolff; two daughters, Karen (Carl) Turner, Elgin, Ill., Patty (John) Reeves, Niagara; one son, Bill Wolff, Niagara; two sisters, Kathy and Melissa; one brother, Mark; two grandchildren, Dawn (Andrew) Mitchem, Iron Mountain, Ryan Kelley, DePere, Wis.; two great-grandchildren, Zowie and Matheaw Allard; many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
The visitation will be Saturday, August 14, 2010, from 1:00 p.m. to 3:30 p.m. at Jacobs Funeral Home, Niagara Chapel. The funeral will be 3:30 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home. Rev. Cheryle and Curt Spicer will officiate. Burial will be in Chapman Cemetery, Niagara.
