Obituary

Gary W. Spletzer, 59, of Green Bay, Wis., formerly of Crystal Falls, Mich., passed away unexpectedly on Thursday, October 21, 2010, at St. Mary's Hospital, Green Bay. He was born on April 21, 1951, in Crystal Falls, Mich., son of the late Walter and Margaret Spletzer. Gary grew up in Crystal Falls, Mich., and he graduated from Forest Park High School, Class of 1970. Gary excelled in numerous high school sports including basketball and football. He lived and worked in Green Bay. Gary worked as a custodial engineer at Oneida Bingo and Casino. He loved the outdoors, especially hunting, fishing, and camping. Gary also enjoyed music of all kinds along with dancing. Despite living in the green and gold territory of the Packers, he was a loyal Detroit Lions fan. Gary will be remembered for his outgoing, fun-loving attitude. He was a loving, passionate, and supportive person, who always tried to put others before him. He is survived by three children, Scott, Tyler, and Shena Spletzer, all of Green Bay; one granddaughter, Aspen Veeser, Green Bay; two sisters, Sally Spletzer, Green Bay, and Sandra Stream, Crystal Falls; along with many other friends and family. Gary was a loving father, grandfather, brother, and friend. He will be missed by his family and all who came to know him. Visitation will be Monday, October 25, 2010, from 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m., at the United Lutheran Church, 506 Superior Ave, Crystal Falls. The funeral service will be 11:00 a.m., Monday at the church. Rev. Michael Laakko will officiate. Burial will be in the Evergreen Memorial Cemetery, Crystal Falls.
