Homestead, Wis.-Gary K. Freeberg, age 76, of Homestead, Wis., passed away Friday, October 19, 2018, at Dickinson County Healthcare System, Iron Mountain, Mich.

He was born August 22, 1942, in Iron Mountain, Mich., son of the late Karl and Ardith (Tomlinson) Freeberg. Gary attended Florence High School and graduated with the class of 1960. He married Sharon Wood and she preceded him in death in 2006. Gary worked for MJ Electric for a few years. He then went on to attend finance classes which lead him to become a loan officer and eventually Vice President with the Kimberly Credit Union in Kimberly, Wis. where he worked for many years. Gary later moved to Homestead in 1980, where he has been residing and took a position with MBank as their Vice President and in his last year was named President.

Gary enjoyed hunting, fishing, playing pool, and the time he spent with his family and friends.

He is survived by one brother, Ernie (Kim) Freeberg, Breitung Twps., Mich.; one sister-in-law, Francie Freeberg, Florence, Wis.; and many nieces, nephews and cousins.

In addition to his parents, Gary was preceded in death by one daughter, Donya Freeberg; and one brother, Vance Freeberg.

Visitation will be held Friday, October 26, 2018 from 9:00 a.m. until 10:00 a.m. at the Jacobs-Lundholm Funeral Home, Florence, Wis. Florence VFW Post #3635 will accord military honors Friday, 9:45 a.m. at the funeral home. Funeral services will be held Friday, 10:00 a.m. at the funeral home. Pastor Doug Johnson will officiate. Burial will be in Breitung Twps. Cemetery, Quinnesec, Mich.
