Kingsford- Frank Pietrantonio, 76, of Kingsford, Mich., passed away Thursday, June 11, 2020. He was born June 28, 1943, Iron Mountain, Mich., son of the late Frank and Anna (DesJardins) Pietrantonio. Frank grew up in Iron Mountain and was a graduate of Iron Mountain High School. Following graduation, he proudly served in the United States Army until his honorable discharge. Frank married Carol Niemi and she preceded him in death in 1975. He worked as a Detective for the police department in Flint, Mich. and was a member of the Uren Cooper Johnson American Legion Post #50, Iron Mountain, where he served as Adjutant and Commander. He was a member of St. Mary Queen of Peace. Survivors include two sons, Frank Jr. and Joshua Pietrantonio; three daughters, Diane (Mathew) Gibbons, Tonya Zablonki and Pietra Zablonki; one brother, Nick Pietrantonio; many grandchildren and great-grandchildren. In addition to his parents, Frank was preceded in death by one daughter, Carissa Pietrantonio; and one brother, Anthony Pietrantonio. A graveside service will be held Thursday, June 18, 2020 at 10:00 a.m. at Cemetery Park, Iron Mountain, Mich. The Uren Cooper Johnson American Legion Post #50 will accord military honors at graveside.
