Francis R. (Dick) King, age 74, of Crystal Falls, died Thursday, July 6, 2006, at Bellin Hospital, Green Bay, Wis. He was born December 15, 1931, in Quincy, Ill. son of the late Elmer and Esther (Reddick) King. On October 16, 1954, in Laurium, Mich. he married Patricia Tremberth. She survives. As a young child Dick's family moved to Hannibal, Missouri where he attended school and graduated from Hannibal High. Dick attended Michigan Tech and retired in 1988 from Michigan Bell (AT&T) as plant operations manager. He was a veteran of the U.S. Air Force and served during the Korean War and had been stationed at the Calumet Radar Air Station,Gratiot Lake, near Calumet as a radar technician where he met who was to become his future wife, Patricia Tremberth. Dick was a member of the Telecom Pioneers, Crystal Falls Lions Club, served on the Board of Review for the Crystal Falls Township, and was Past President of the Kingsford Kiwanis Club. He enjoyed carpentry and working on cars in his garage. Survivors include his wife, Patricia King, Crystal Falls; two sons, Todd (Julie) King, Laurium, David (Debbie) King, St. Michael, Minn; three grandchildren, Michelle, Stephanie and Rachel King; and one brother, Wayne (Betty) King, Winter Haven, Calif. He was preceded in death by his parents and one sister, Betty Bradshaw. Funeral Services will be held 11:00 a.m. Monday, July 10, 2006, at Guardian Angels Catholic Church, Crystal Falls. Rev. Dino Silvestrini will officiate. Burial will be in the Lake View Cemetery, Calumet. Friends may call Monday from 9:00 a.m. until the time of services at the church.
