Frances Dodson, 87, died on November 13, 2008 in Milwaukee, Wis.
She was born May 9, 1921, in Milwaukee, daughter of the late Nicholas and Helen Schueneman. She met John (Drozdowski) Dodson from Iron River, Mich. while working at the Pabst Brewing Company in Milwaukee. They were married in Milwaukee on September 15, 1947. Last year, they celebrated their 61st wedding anniversary at the home of their daughter, Carol Radke.
Frances was a devout Catholic. She spent much of her time with her family including her parents, brothers, John and Gene and sister Marion, all of whom preceded her in death. Frances enjoyed playing her guitar and listening to music. She raised three children, Jim, Carol and Marilyn. However, her crowning achievement was watching her four grandchildren, Lisa, Paul, Stephen and Victoria, while their parents worked.
John and Frances owned the Drozdowski family farm, established in December 1900, in Bates Township. In 2000, they sold it to their daughter Carol.
During the last several years, while her health declined, she was lovingly cared for by her husband, John, daughter, Carol, son-in-law, Jeff, grandson, Stephen, and granddaughter, Victoria. This allowed her to remain in the comfort of her home during her final years.
Surviving Frances are her husband, children, grandchildren as well as other relatives in Iron County, Mich. and Milwaukee.
