Floyd L. Lindholm, 84, of Kingsford, passed away Friday, February 14, 2014, at the Oscar G. Johnson Veterans Hospital, Iron Mountain.
He was born June 14, 1929, in Jackson Mich., son of the late Algot and Florence (Anderson) Lindholm.
Floyd grew up in Marquette, Mich. and graduated from Graveraet High School, Marquette. He served our country in the U.S. Army during World War II. Floyd was an active member of the Uren Cooper-Johnson American Legion Post #50, Iron Mountain.
Floyd married Mary Martini on June 14, 1986, in Iron Mountain. They resided in Kingsford.
Floyd was a truck driver and worked for several companies in the area, most recently U.P. Special Delivery.
He is survived by his loving wife of 27 years, Mary, two sons; Kim (Toni) Lindholm, Poynette, Wis. and Floyd Lindholm, Kingsford, two daughters; Kathy (Chuck) Butler, Dalles, Ore., and Connie (Tim) LaBunski, Wind Lake, Wis., six grandchildren and two great grandchildren.
In addition to his parents, Floyd was preceded in death by one son, Shawn Lindholm, and one sister, Gwendelyn Lindholm.
Visitation will be Tuesday, February 18, 2014, from 5:00p.m. to 6:30p.m., at the Jacobs Funeral Home, Iron Mountain. A Celebration of Life Service will be held Tuesday, 6:30p.m. at the funeral home. Rev. James Danielson will officiate. American Legion Post #50, Iron Mountain, will accord Military Honors Tuesday, 6:15p.m., at the funeral home. Burial will be in Cemetery Park, Iron Mountain.
