Florence C. Shivy, 83, of Randville, Mich., passed away Thursday, July 25, 2013, at her home. She was born September 22, 1929, in Iron Mountain, Mich., daughter of the late Edgar and Luella (Owen) Pollock. Florence is a lifelong resident of Randville. She married Ernest Shivy January 29, 1947. They recently celebrated their 66th wedding anniversary. Florence attended the Randville Bible Church. She enjoyed staying busy and had many hobbies including crocheting, woodcarving, carpentry work, and picking rocks. Florence is survived by her husband of 66 years, Ernie; one son Gary (Sally) Shivy, Big Rapids, Mich.; two daughters, Patricia (David) Burchett, Petoskey, Mich. and Joan Shivy, Randville; two brothers , Robert (June) Pollock, Randville, Kenneth (Verna) Pollock, Iron Mountain; one daughter- in- law, Debra Shivy, Marquette; seven grandchildren, Thad (Connie), Angie, Emily, Shawna (Bryan), Rachael, Chelsea and Brad (Erin); seven great grand-children, Marcus, Bela, Thatcher, Alyssa, Sammy, Logan and Anna; one great-great granddaughter, Allison. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her son Dale Shivy. Visitation will be Monday, July 29, 2013, from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. at the Jacobs Funeral Home, Iron Mountain. Funeral services will be Monday, 4:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Rev. James Danielson will officiate. Burial will be in Cemetery Park, Iron Mountain.
