Florence M. Lipinski, 91, of Florence, passed away Wednesday, June 18, 2014, at the Iron County Medical Care Facility, Crystal Falls, Mich.
She was born October 11, 1922, in Chicago, Ill., daughter of the late Frank and Mary (Fruzen) Krusinski. Florence married John Lipinski on December 30, 1940, in Chicago. They moved to Florence in 1946, and she worked for the Florence Villa Nursing Home for fifteen years. John preceded her in death on February 6, 2000.
Florence was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church, Florence and the Altar Society. She enjoyed playing bingo and her trips to the casino but especially spending time with family and friends.
She is survived by two sons, John J. (Annette) Lipinski, Jr., Haughton, La. and Mike (Mona) Lipinski, Pound Wis.; two daughters, Pat (Paul) Wender, Iron Mountain, Mich. and Diane (Steve) Simbob, Crystal Falls; twelve grandchildren, Nicholas (Jenna) Simbob, Natalie Simbob (Aaron), Mindy (Quentin) Teske, Bret Herman, Michael (Wendy) Lipinski, Jr., Dan (Tara) Lipinski, Ben (Cassie) Lipinski, Joanna (Jeremy) Gross, Tammy (Randy) Hayes, Laura (Fred) Goltz, Jesse (Kim) Lipinski and Mark (Amy) Lipinski; twenty-five, great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents and husband John, Florence was preceded in death by one daughter, Joan Ann Lipinski; four brothers, Richard, George, Roman and Matt Krusinski; two sisters, Evelyn Smith and Gertrude Barnett.
Visitation will be Saturday, June 21, 2014, from 9:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. at the Jacobs-Lundholm Funeral Home, Florence. Prayers will be recited Saturday, 10:30 a.m. at the funeral home. The Funeral Mass will be celebrated Saturday, 11:00 a.m. St. Mary Catholic Church, Florence. Rev. Fr. Matt Settle will officiate. Burial will be in St. Mary Cemetery, Commonwealth, Wis.
