Florence S. Dennis, 76, of Florence passed away Sunday, April 22, 2012 at the Golden Living Center. Florence was born on April 27, 1935 in Racine, Wis., daughter of the late Samuel and Florence (Giese) Slavik. She grew up in Racine and graduated from Washington Park High School. Florence married Anthony Dennis in Racine and he preceded her in death. Florence loved dogs and playing bingo. She loved spending time with all the dogs that would come to visit at the Golden Living Center. She is survived by one daughter, Debra (John) Leighton, Florence; two grandchildren, Autumn (David) Lambert, Stevens Point, Wisc., Jennifer Leighton, Florence; four great-grandchildren, Ana, Jacob and Leighton Lambert and Khristian Carollo. Special cousin, Margie Slavik, Kenosha, Wisc.; special friend, Diane Peppler, Norway, Mich. The visitation will be Thursday, April 26, 2012, from 3:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. at the Jacobs-Lundholm Funeral Home, Florence. Funeral services will be 4:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Rev. Doug Johnson will officiate. A memorial will be established in Florence's memory.
