Fleda L. "Jackie" Chapman, 93, Kingsford, Mich., passed away Saturday, December 19, 2009, at Manorcare, Kingsford.
She was born May 16, 1916, in Jackson, California, daughter of the late John and Fleda (Berry) Caddy. On June 15, 1937, in Holly, Mich. she married Lawrence Chapman. He preceded her in death in March of 1988.
Jackie was the youngest of three children. Her father worked as a miner and was killed in a mining accident one week before she was born. Following her father's death the family moved to Munising to be close to her English/Dutch family. Jackie attended schools in lower and upper Michigan and recently graduated from Iron Mountain High School, 2004. Jackie and her husband farmed prior to his working in area mines and she was a stay at home mom who loved to cook and bake. The couple enjoyed fishing, camping, and playing cards with friends. She has been described as a truly special lady, outgoing, active, upbeat, enjoying jokes and activities.
Survivors include two daughters, Sandra Olson, Breiting Township, Donna (Tom) Thibert, Seymour, Tenn; three sons, Donald Chapman, Larry (Colleen) Chapman, Roger (Cathy) Chapman, all of Niagara; grandchildren, great-grandchildren, other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, and two sisters, Rena Thatcher and Margaret Kearney.

Memorial services will be held 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, December 22, 2009, at Jacobs Funeral Homes Niagara Chapel, Niagara. Friends may call from 10:00 a.m. until the time of services at the funeral home. Burial will be in the Chapman Cemetery.
