Everett "Butch" Borns, Jr., 62, of Florence, Wis., passed away Tuesday, September 16, 2008, at Bellin Health, Green Bay, Wis.
He was born May 7, 1946, in Stambaugh, Mich., son of Everett and Lenore (Peterson) Borns. Everett grew up in Florence and graduated from Florence High School. He attended Northeast Wisconsin Technical College, Green Bay, where he received his Associates Degree in marketing.
Everett then served in the United States Navy for 20 years. While in the Navy, he was stationed on various ships as an accountant. Everett retired from the Navy in 1988, and moved back to Florence. After moving back to Florence, he attended Bay de Noc Community College, Escanaba, Mich., where he received a certificate in accounting.
He enjoyed gardening, cooking, and playing cards with friends.
Everett is survived by his mother, Lenore, Golden Living Center; one sister, Donna (Robert) Hitchcock, Columbia Station, Ohio; one aunt, Eileen (Oscar) Greenlund, Iron Mountain; two nieces, Barbara Hitchcock, Debi Hitchcock, both of Columbia Station; and several cousins.
He was preceded in death by his father, Everett Borns, Sr.

Visitation will be Monday, September 22, 2008 from 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. at Jacobs-Lundholm Funeral Home, Florence. The funeral service will be Monday 11:00 a.m., at the funeral home. Rev. Douglas Johnson will officiate. Burial will be in Woodlawn Cemetery, Florence. VFW Post No. 3635 will accord military honors at graveside.
