Evelyn J. Schabel, 78, of Aurora, passed away Friday, March 29, 2013, at Dickinson County Healthcare System, Iron Mountain, Mich. She was born September 17, 1934, in Laona, daughter of the late Maynard and Leona (Liddell) Schabel. At a young age, Evelyn moved with her family to Aurora where she has resided since. She enjoyed the outdoors, watching wild animals in her yard, feeding the birds, and flower gardening. She loved her dogs and cats as well as hunting with her beagles. Evelyn is survived by two brothers, James Schabel, Willard Schabel, both of Aurora; three sisters, Dianna (Dwaine) Zahorik, Aurora, Sharon (Joseph) Lison, Rock Springs, Wyo., Claire (George) Moser, Middletown, Md.; many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two brothers, Kenneth and Bruce Schabel. Private family services are being held.
