Crystal Falls: Evelyn M. Nowikowski, age 84, of Green Bay, Wis., formerly of Crystal Falls, Mich., passed away Friday August 18, 2006, at Manor Care East in Green Bay, Wis. She was born April 21, 1922, in Milwaukee, Wis., daughter of the late Julius and Martha (Stephens) Krause. Evelyn graduated as a Registered Nurse, and was employed by the Crystal Manor Nursing Home for many years. Evelyn served our country in the U.S. Army from 1942 until 1944. She married Jerome Nowikowski on September 28, 1946, in Milwaukee, Wis. He preceded her in death on March 7, 1982. Evelyn is survived by her three children, Mary (Don) Kurtz of Crystal Falls, Mich., Gloria (Leonard) Kamine of Marinette, Wis., Jerome "Jerry" (Kim) Nowikowski of Brussels, Wis.; six grandchildren, Kurt, Donald, Doreen, Daniel, Tim, Janice, and eight great-grandchildren. Besides her husband Jerome, Evelyn was preceded in death by one brother, three sisters, one granddaughter, and one great-grandson. Visitation will be Monday August 21, 2006, from 12:30p.m. until 1:30p.m. at the Jacobs-Plowe Funeral Home in Crystal Falls. Funeral services will be Monday, 1:30p.m., at the funeral home. Ted Kurtz of the Jehovah's Witnesses will officiate. Burial will be in Evergreen Memorial Cemetery in Crystal Falls.
