Crystal Falls: Evelyn B. Karell, age 81, formerly of Amasa, Michigan, died Monday, November 3, 2003, at Toltec Living Center in Santa Barbara, California. She was born in Crystal Falls, Michigan, October 23, 1922, daughter of the late Frank and Caroline (Gorman) Stebbins. She graduated from Amasa High School and worked for G.E. Aircraft Engines during the war. She married Reino Karell and they lived in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. Reino preceded her in death in 1978. Shortly after Evelyn moved to Santa Barbara, California. Evelyn enjoyed the outdoors and working in the yard. She just loved to play golf. Survivors include her son Kraig (Zhanna) Karell, of Goleta, California, one grandson Reno Karell, three granddaughters, Adelfa Karell, Michelle Karell, and Kristy Karell. Besides her parents and her husband Reino, Evelyn was preceded in death by one brother Lee Stebbins and a sister Terry Anderson. Visitation will be Friday, November 7, 2003, from 5 – 7 P.M. at the Jacobs-Plowe Funeral Home in Crystal Falls and on Saturday, November 8, from 10:30 – 11:00A.M. at Grace United Methodist Church in Amasa. Funeral services will be Saturday, November 8, 11:00a.m. at Grace United Methodist Church. Rev. Elbert Dulworth will officiate. Burial will be in Evergreen Memorial Cemetery in Crystal Falls.
