Evelyn M. Friestrom, 90, Crystal Falls, passed away Thursday, September 25, 2008, at Iron County Community Hospital, Iron River. She was born July 19, 1918, daughter of the late Erick and Regina (Kullar) Raben. On July 21, 1940, in Crystal Falls, she married Roy M. Friestrom. He preceded her in death on August 24, 1964. Evelyn graduated from cosmetology school in Iron Mountain and worked as a beautician in Crystal Falls for many years. She was a member of United Lutheran Church, a Life Member of the American Legion Post No. 87 Auxiliary and served as treasurer for many years. Evelyn enjoyed traveling, playing cards and most especially spending time with her children, grand and great-grandchildren. She is the loving mother to, Gail Dalpra, Betty (Ray) Palmer, Crystal Falls; Gary (Krista Gussert) Friestrom, Quinnesec; grandmother to, Rob (Mary) Dalpra, Jenny Dalpra, Lori Friestrom, Angie (Christopher) Diehl, Erick (Laura) Friestrom, Deryk Palmer, Kristi Palmer, Nicole (Brad) Harvala; great-grandmother to, Christopher, Connor, Trever, Emma, Braeden, Kendra V. and Kendra R. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband and one grandson, Timmy Dalpra.
