Evangeline Bigalke, age 91, of Florence, Wis., passed away Monday, March 13, 2006, at Dickinson County Healthcare System of Iron Mountain. She was born in Chicago, Ill. On January 14, 1915, the daughter of the late Crist and Josephine (White) Schroeder. On April 19, 1934, she married Russell Bigalke in Chicago. They lived in Chicago until her husband passed away in 1987, then she moved to Florence to be close to her family. She was a member of St. John's Evangelical Lutheran Church in Florence. Evangeline was also a member of the Young at Heart Club of Florence. One of her favorite things was spending time with her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. Survivors include her son Richard (Anne) Bigalke, Florence, three grandchildren; Stephen (Jean) Bigalke, Florence, David (Jody) Bigalke, Niagara, Chris (Debbie) Bigalke, Florence, and four great-grandchildren; Amanda, Ashley, Brad and Lynnzie. Besides her parents and husband Russell, Evangeline was preceded in death by a twin brother Earl Schroeder. Visitation will be Thursday, March 16, 2006, 9:00 – 10:00 a.m. at Jacobs-Lundholm Funeral Home in Florence. Funeral Services will be Thursday, 10:30 a.m. at St. John's Evangelical Lutheran Church in Florence. Pastor Andrew Schwartz will officiate. Burial will be in Irving Park Cemetery in Chicago.
