Erin Lindsay Melin, 29, of Madison, WI died January 11, 2006 at the University of WI Hospital in Madison, after a very valiant and courageous battle with cancer.
She was born November 18, 1976 in Oakland, California and moved to Burnsville, MN, where she graduated from Burnsville High School in 1995. She attended the University of WI-Madison and graduated in 2000 and the University of WI-LaCrosse, where she graduated with a Master's Degree in Physical Therapy. She worked at Meriter Hospital in Madison.
Erin was an amazing woman who fought her cancer with grace, dignity, and an unrelenting optimistic attitude. She touched so many lives in her short 29 years; some of whom she didn't even know, but who prayed for her constantly. She pursued every possible treatment and endured more than most would encounter in several lifetimes. She was an inspiration to countless friends, family, and medical staff who knew and loved her. We are comforted to know that Erin is now at peace in heaven (eating her chocolate ice cream).
Erin was preceded in death by her Great Grandmother Eva Melin, grandparents Robert and Arline Muench, and her godfather Robert Forge.
She will be deeply missed by her loving soul mate Lucas Madsen, Madison, WI; parents Rodger and Marcia Melin, Burnsville MN; sister Collette(Richard)Bassi, Coldwater, MS; brother Caleb Melin, Burnsville, MN; niece and goddaughter Eva Bassi, grandparents Dean and Vivian Melin, Aurora, WI; and her aunts, uncles, and cousins.
A celebration of Erin's life will be held Saturday, January 21, 2006 at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Florence, WI. Visitation will be held from 9-10:30 a.m. with mass following at 11 a.m.
