Kingsford-Eric W. Rowney, age 39, of Schofield, Wis., passed away Tuesday, June 25, 2019, surrounded by his family and friends. He was born March 29, 1980 in Iron River, Mich. He is the son of Ken and Jean (Peterson) Christianson. He grew up in Kingsford and was a graduate of Kingsford High School, class of 1998. Where he was a standout football player and earned a scholarship to play for Michigan Tech. While playing football for Michigan Tech Eric earned his degree in business. Eric worked as a manager for various retail stores. On July 20, 2017 he was united in marriage to Tracy Wood. He enjoyed football, golfing, motorcycles, playing poker, horseshoes, kayaking and being outdoors. Most importantly Eric was devoted to his family. Survivors include his wife, Tracy Rowney; parents, Ken and Jean Christianson; one son, Tanner Weisenbeck, one daughter, Ellie Weisenbeck; two brothers, Bryan (Melanie) Richardson and Marc (Lannie) Rowney; one sister, Rachelle (Chris) Boettcher; and several nieces and nephews. In accordance with Eric's wishes, a celebration of his life will take place on Saturday, July 6, 2019 at 1:00 p.m. at Balsam Street Christian Church, Kingsford, Mich.
