KINGSFORD – Emma Nelson, 93, longtime resident of Niagara, passed away Sunday September 4, 2005, at ManorCare Health Services in Kingsford, MI.
She was born January 30, 1912, in Manistique, MI, the daughter of the late Sebastian and Bertha (Bruecklemeyer) Aubinger. She attended St. Francis de Sales School in Manistique, MI.
In 1931 she married Nels Leonard Nelson of Niagara. He preceded her in death on July 7th, 1974.
Emma was a member of St. Anthony's Catholic church of Niagara. She was also a member of St. Anthony's Council of Catholic Women.
She is survived by her daughters, Shirley Rudloff of Lindenhurst, IL; Barbara Lucas of Fond du Lac, WI; a son Gerald (Shirley) Nelson of Kaukauna, WI; 9 grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren.
In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by a son, Ronald Nelson, sisters Bertha Richard, Corona Scott and Tillie ( Henry) Tennant; and brothers Sebastian, Herman, Lawrence and Victor Aubinger.
Visitation will be Wednesday, September 7, 2005, from 9:30-11:00a.m. at St. Anthony's Catholic Church in Niagara. St. Anthony's Council of Catholic Women will officer a memorial service at the church. The Funeral Mass will be Wednesday, at 11:00a.m. at the church. Fr. Michael Betley will officiate. Burial will be in Niagara Cemetery.
A Memorial fund in Emma's memory is being established for the Alzheimer's Association.
The family appreciates the excellent care given our Mother by Dr. Judy and Dr. Saphner. A special thank you to everyone at ManorCare. We never worried about Mom's care while she lived there. We are very grateful.
