Florence:
Elza Strasse, age 83, of Florence, Wis. went to be with the Lord on Friday, September 9, 2005, at Florence Villa Nursing Center in Florence.
She was born in Green Bay, Wisconsin, August 8, 1922, daughter of the late Florian and Loretta (Bowring) Dent. She grew up in Green Bay and attended school there. She went on to the University of Wisconsin Madison for four years majoring in Chemistry.
On July 29, 1950, in Green Bay, she married Charles Strasse. They resided in Greenfield, Wisconsin for 32years, moving to Spread Eagle in 1983. Elza worked as a teacher's aid for several years while living in Greenfield, Wisconsin.
Elza was always an active member of the church she attended in Greenfield and was a volunteer for both the boys and girls scouts for many years. Since moving to Spread Eagle, she has been an active member of the First Presbyterian Church of Kingsford.
Survivors include her husband Chuck, two sons; Fred (Janet) Strasse of Florence, Wis.,
and Bill (Ann) Strasse of New Berlin, Wis., one daughter Margie (Chet) Weber of Racine, Wis., one brother Vinel Dent of Connecticut, and six grandchildren; David (Crystal) Strasse, Matt, Laura, and Sara Strasse, Kelly and Tom Weber.
Visitation will be Monday, September 12, 2005, from 12:30 – 2:00p.m. at the First Presbyterian Church in Kingsford. Funeral services will be Monday 2:00p.m. at the church. Rev. Michael March will officiate. Burial will be in Forest Hill Memorial Park in Oak Creek, Wisconsin.
