Obituary

Elsie A. Wangberg, 88, of Pembine, Wis., passed away Wednesday, January 12, 2011, at Maryhill Manor, Niagara. She was born on July 17, 1922, in Calumet City, Ill., daughter of the late Leo and Mary (Laudinski) Lewandowski. Elsie grew up in Calumet City. She married Raymond Wangberg on July 11, 1946, in Calumet City. Shortly after being married, they moved to the Chicago area and later to New Buffalo in Lower Michigan. On June 11, 1993, Raymond preceded Elsie in death, at which time she moved to Pembine, Wis. Elsie was a member of Grace Lutheran Church, Pembine, and the Pembine Senior Citizen Center. She enjoyed spending time with her family and friends. Elsie is survived by three sons, Ken (Donna) Wangberg, Pembine, Larry (Monika) Wangberg, Jacksonville, Fla., Robert Wangberg, Wheaton, Ill.; one daughter, Rae Anne (Carl) Meverden, Pembine; one sister-in-law, Anna Mae Lewandowski, Whiting, Ind.; seven grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and two nephews. She was preceded in death by one brother, Leo Lewandowski; and one great-grandson. Graveside services will be in Pembine Cemetery, Pembine, in the spring.
