Crystal Falls-Ellyn Rose Westcott, "Rosie" passed away on Friday, April 13, 2018, at the age of 86, while a resident of the Willows Unit of the Iron County Medical Care Facility. She is now free from the suffering of a dementia illness and other medical issues. In death she joins her spouse Lawrence "Bud" Westcott and son Bobby Westcott. Those who mourn her include her son Thomas (Debbie) Westcott of Crystal Falls, daughters Skip (Bob) Martin of Coloma, Wis., Patsy (Ray) Furmanski of Daggett, Mich., and Jill (David) Halsey of Pickford, Mich.;daughter in law, Pat Westcott; and her four sisters Helen "Tata" Karpinski of Waukesha, Wis., Carol Rucinski of Crystal Falls, Agnes Knapp of Mequon, Wis., and Georgia Keller of Pahrump, Nev. She also leaves behind ten grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren who will miss her as well as many other family members and friends.

Many will remember Rosie working as a nurse's aide at Crystal Falls Community Hospital. Rosie loved her family and loved bowling, golfing, and being at the lake. She enjoyed many years of bowling at the local lanes on many different teams and leagues including her favorite McNeil Oilers team. She was secretary for many of these leagues as well as the WIBC secretary. She and her daughter Skip traveled to a variety of bowling tournaments and meetings for the bowling association. Rosie was especially proud of her 200 games and 600 series club awards. Golfing became her favorite summer sport shared with both family and friends. A favorite gift was her yearly pass to the Crystal View golf course. She made good use of it, often saying she got her money's worth and then some! Her favorite stories and happiest memories always focused on any time that included being at Fortune Lake. There are so many good times remembered spent living and celebrating with family and friends in and about the water and beaches and vacation time! She loved it so much we celebrated "Christmas in July" so we could be on the water instead of in the snow for family holiday gatherings. A highlight was the year she water skied double with her grandson Greg! She also collected and was often gifted anything with a Bald Eagle image or John Wayne memorabilia and never seemed to get duplicates or ones she didn't like. Rosie said family is the most important thing in the world and surrounded herself with photographs and memories of her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren as well as many of "The 5 Sisters" family group pictures.

A private celebration of Rosie's life will be held by her family. She will rest next to Bud in the Evergreen Memorial Cemetery in Crystal Falls, Mich. It is the family's desire to celebrate her life rather than mourn her loss, so if you have memories, please share them with the family and each other. Rosie would encourage you to spend time with those you love, as we do not know how long any of us will be here.
