Florence: Ellis Peters age 81, died Monday, August 25, 2003, at the Florence Villa Nursing Home in Florence, WI. Ellis was born in Tipler, Wisconsin, on February 3, 1922, the son of the late Ray and Irmaguard (Gilmore) Peters. He resided in Florence from 1929 to 1941, where he worked doing carpenter work for the CC Camps in the area. He served in the US Navy during World War II, serving from 1942 until 1945 when he was honorably discharged. He married his wife Marion on December 16, 1967 in Milwaukee where they resided until moving to Dunbar in 1980. She preceded him in death on July 25, 1993. Ellis was an active member of the American Legion Post of Milwaukee. He is survived by one son Edward Peters of Springfield, Massachusetts. Visitation will be Wednesday, August 27, 2003, from 11:00 to 11:30 A.M. at the Jacobs-Lundholm Funeral Home in Florence, WI. Funeral services will be at 11:30A.M. August 27, 2003, at the Funeral Home. Celebrant Robert Fuse will officiate. Burial will be in Woodlawn Cemetery.
