Elizabeth (Steinbeck) VanGyseghem, 85, formerly of Kingswood Apartments, Kingsford, and Hyland Nursing Home, Iron Mountain, went to be with the Lord on Wednesday, July 11, 2007, at Dickinson County Hospital, Iron Mountain, after a brief illness. She was born September 12, 1921, in Foster City, Mich., daughter of the late Henry and Eva (Cunningham) Wilson. Elizabeth married David Alvis Steinbeck in December 1942, they enjoyed 21 years together. He preceded her in death in February 1964. She then married Albert VanGyseghem in June 1971. He preceded her in death in January 1986. Elizabeth was a homemaker and enjoyed dancing, crocheting, needlework, and playing cards. She is survived by three sons, Duane (Fay) Steinbeck, Iron Mountain, Daniel (Lioba) Steinbeck, Holiday, Fla., Dennis (Diane) Steinbeck, Quinnesec, Mich.; one daughter, Lori Steinbeck, Iron Mountain; ten grandchildren; nine great grandchildren; one great-great grandson; lifetime friend, Lou Powell; special friend, Clifford Trask; many nieces and nephews. Besides her parents and husbands, David and Albert, Elizabeth was preceded in death by one son, David Steinbeck; two brothers; two sisters; and one grandson. Visitation will be Monday, July 16 from 10:00 am to 11:00 am at Jacobs Funeral Home, Iron Mountain. The funeral service will be 11:00 am Monday at the funeral home. Pastor Dick Kreider will officiate. Burial will be in Breitung Township Cemetery, Quinnesec, Mich.
