Obituary

Elizabeth J. "Betty" Rose, 89, of Crystal Falls, formerly of Hillman, Mich., went to be with her Lord on Tuesday, October 23, 2012, at Iron County Medical Care Facility, Crystal Falls. She was born January 29, 1923, in Marion, Mich., daughter of the late James and Hazel (Silvernail) Heaton. Elizabeth was united in marriage to George Rose on January 9, 1943, in Flint, Mich., and they moved to Hillman in 1945. They were married for 34 years. George preceded her in death on June 16, 1977. Elizabeth was an active member of Cavalry Episcopal Church where she was involved in ECW and was on the Church Vestery. She was a former Hillman Village Clerk and Hillman Citizen of the Year. Elizabeth enjoyed traveling and seeing new places, reading, bowling, golfing, and especially spending time with her family. She is survived by two sons, Gary Rose, Crystal Falls, James (Phyllis) Rose, Lachine, Mich.; three daughters, Janet (Gerald) Lucas, Long Rapids, Mich., Kathy (Chuck) Roberts, Gaylord, Mich., Chrisanne Rose, Mt. Vernon, Mo.; fifteen grandchildren, and fourteen great-grandchildren. The visitation will be Saturday, November 3, 2012, from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. at Calvary Episcopal Church, Hillman. The memorial service will be held 11:00 a.m., Saturday at the church. Burial will be in Hillman Cemetery, Hillman. In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to Calvary Episcopal Church.
