Elizabeth L. Peterson, 90, of Crystal Falls, passed away Friday, October 12, 2012, at Northstar Health System, Iron River. She was born November 10, 1921, in Crystal Falls, daughter of the late Joseph and Anna (Laboda) Gufrovich. On August 9, 1952, she married Iver H. Peterson. He preceded her in death on May 9, 1962. Elizabeth was a homemaker, enjoyed being active at her church and love greenery, especially plants and her manicured lawn. She is survived by one son, Joseph Peterson, Gwinn; one sister, Lucille M. Gufrovich, Crystal Falls; three grandchildren, Eric John Peterson, Jeffrey Michael Peterson, Michelle Dianne (Ben) Koepp; numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Besides her parents and husband, Elizabeth was preceded in death by two sisters, Mary Strand, Ann Kubicsko; and four brothers, Joe, John, Clarence, and Paul Gufrovich. The Funeral Mass will be celebrated 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, October 16, 2012, at Guardian Angels Catholic Church, Crystal Falls. Rev. Jeffrey Kurtz will officiate. Burial will be in Evergreen Memorial Cemetery, Crystal Falls.
