Iron Mountain-Elizabeth "Betty" J. Lownik, 90, of Florence, Wis., passed away Wednesday, November 09, 2016 at her home. She was born May 27, 1926 in Florence, daughter of the late Warren and Ida (Price) White. Betty grew up in Florence and graduated Florence High School, Class of 1943. She moved to Racine and married Paul Lownik on April 19, 1947. He preceded her in death on December 31, 2009. Betty and Paul resided in the Milwaukee area until moving to West Bend, Wis. in 1974. They owned and operated Lownik's Restaurant in West Bend until selling the business in 1992. In 1997, Betty and Paul moved to Pembine, Wis. and later to Wausaukee. Betty moved to Florence in 2014. She was a member of St. Mary's Church in Florence and enjoyed crocheting, puzzles and playing Bingo. Betty is survived by one son, Tomas Lownik of Wausaukee, Wis.; two daughters, Donna (Gerald) Frohlich, Grand Forks, N.D. and Virginia "Ginny" Wolk of Wausaukee, Wis.; two sisters, Mary (Nick) Haramija, Warren Mich. and Donna "Sandy" Sanchez, Salida, Colo; 10 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren, three great-great-grandchildren and many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Along with her parents and husband, Paul, Betty was preceded in death by three sons, Jim, John and Bob Lownik; one brother, Warren "Buddy" White and by two sisters, Arlene Wasson and Leona Rivard. Visitation will be held Tuesday, November 15, 2016 from 10:30 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. at Jacobs Funeral Home, Iron Mountain. A prayer will be held at 11:00 a.m. at the funeral home.
