Obituary

Elizabeth A. Haywood, 63, of Norway, passed away Saturday, December 22, 2012, at Dickinson County Healthcare System, Iron Mountain. She was born on June 21, 1949, in Marquette, Mich., daughter of the late Maurice and Frances (McCarthy) Donnelly. Elizabeth grew up in Marquette and attended and graduated from Bishop Baraga Catholic School. She worked for Hornbogen Auto Sales for many years. Elizabeth married David Haywood on May 22, 1980 in Marquette. They resided in Marquette until 1983 at which time they moved to West Palm Beach, Fla. While living in West Palm Beach she managed many large apartment complexes. In 1987, Elizabeth, along with her husband, David, moved to lower Michigan, where they also managed large apartment complexes until moving to Norway in 2002. While living in Norway she continued to manage apartment complexes until 2008. In 2008, Elizabeth took the position of Assistant Manager at the Crystal Lake Community Center, which she held until 2010 when it became the YMCA. Elizabeth enjoyed attending rock and roll, blues and gospel concerts with all of her friends. Her favorite artists were Neil Young and the Grateful Dead. She is survived by her loving husband of 32 years, David; three sons, Christopher (Kelly L'Huillier) Mohar, Harvey, Mich., David (Sandra) Haywood, North Carolina; Craig Haywood, North Carolina; four brothers, Maurice Donnelly, Virginia, Bob (Bobbi) Donnelly, Marquette, Patrick Donnelly, Michael (Kay) Donnelly, Chocolay Township, Mich.; two grandchildren; many nieces, nephews, aunts and uncles. Along with her parents, Elizabeth was preceded in death by one sister, Rebecca. Visitation will be Friday, December 28, 2012 from 11:00 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at the Jacobs Funeral Home, Iron Mountain. A Celebration of Life will be held Friday 12:30 p.m. at the funeral home. Rev. Kevin Sullivan will celebrate.
