Elizabeth "Betty" Dobrzenski, 88, of Crystal Falls, passed away Sunday, September 18, 2011, at the Iron County Medical Care Facility, Crystal Falls.
She was born February 3, 1923, at the historically filled Anesi-Dobrzenski Farm in Mansfield, Mich., daughter of the late John and Domenica Anesi. Elizabeth was the youngest of ten children. She attended the local old Mansfield School then the Mansfield Farming Country School before graduating from Crystal Falls High School, Class of 1940. On September 26, 1940, she married Alex T. Dobrzenski.
Betty and Tudy acquired the Anesi Farm where they resided until Tudy preceded her in death in February 2003. Betty lived 80 years in the log home where she was born. She worked hard days raising five sons and working the dairy and beef which were a huge part of her daily living. Betty worked extremely long, hard years managing the farm and all that went with it.
She was a member of the Guardian Angels Catholic Church Choir. Betty enjoyed creative crafting with flowers and driftwood, gardening, wine making, cooking, and visiting with friends. She especially enjoyed time with her husband and family. Betty will be best remembered for her caring, loving Anesi compassion for others.
Betty is survived by three sons, Terry (Shelly) Dobrzenski, Menominee, Jerry (Connie) Dobrzenski, Crystal Falls, Tim Dobrzenski, Flint; 14 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; other relatives and friends.
Besides her parents and husband she was preceded in death by two sons, Darryl Dobrzenski and Dennis Dobrzenski; two brothers, John Anesi Jr., Frank Anesi; seven sisters, Ann Robichaud, Rose Zdravecky, Mary Sundquist, Kathryn Clement, Angeline Battye, Ella Guyon, and Lodovine Jeffrey.
The visitation will be Friday, September 30, 2011, from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. at the Mansfield Pioneer Church, Mansfield. A memorial service will be held 11:00 a.m., Friday at the church. Rev. Fr. Jeffrey Kurtz will officiate. Following the service a time of fellowship/lunch will be held in the hall at Guardian Angels Catholic Church, Crystal Falls.
