Iron Mountain: Eliza Tomasi age 92, of Iron Mountain, passed away Tuesday, October 26, 2004, at the Freeman Nursing Center in Kingsford, Michigan. She was born June 11, 1912, in Gwinn, MI, the daughter of the late John and Marie (Marcolina) Tramontine. Eliza was born and raised in Gwinn and moved to Iron Mountain in 1924. She married Mathew Tomasi July 3, 1947, in Iron Mountain. He preceded her in death in 1974. She worked at Pine Grove Country Club as a cook's helper for about thirteen years. Eliza was a member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, the Immaculate Conception Guild, Christian Mothers, the Daughter of Isabella, the Lady Elks, the Paisano's and the Italian Women's Club. Survivors include one son Thomas (Janice) Tomasi of Iron Mountain, MI, one daughter Arlene Walter (Rodney) of Clovis, California, one sister Inez Olson of Beloit, WI, four grandchildren and seven great grandchildren. Besides her parents and husband, Mathew, Eliza was preceded in death by two brothers Mike and Adolph Tramontine, and two sister Louise Schupp and Inez Olson. Visitation will be Sunday, October 31, 2004, from 4 – 7p.m. at the Jacobs Funeral Home in Iron Mountain. Prayer services will be recited at 10:30a.m. Monday, November 1, 2004, at the Jacobs Funeral Home. The Mass of Christian Burial will be Monday, November 1, 2004, at 11:00a.m., at the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Iron Mountain. Msgr. James Kaczmarek will officiate.
