Crystal Falls: Elaine M. Stoor, age 82, of Crystal Falls, passed away Sunday, November 14, 2004, at Crystal Manor Nursing Home in Crystal Falls. She was born March 28, 1922, in Rapid River, MI, the daughter of the late William and Delima (LeMaire) LaLande. She attended Rapid River High School and graduated in 1940. She married Richard Kewley September 18, 1945, and he preceded her in death on October 26, 1947. She moved to Crystal Falls in 1947 and lived here for over fifty years. She married Erick "Dave" Stoor May 29, 1948, and he preceded her in death on March 19, 1986. She attended Beauty School in Iron Mountain and owned Elaine's Beauty Shop for over forty-five years from 1955 -1999. She was a member of the Eastern Star, VFW Auxiliary, and the American Legion Auxiliary. Survivors include two sons Kurt D. (Beth) Stoor of Martinez, California, Dean A. (Yvette) Stoor of Sandia Park, New Mexico, two daughters Cheryl A. (Robert) Klenner of Wausau, WI, Christine L. (Bruce) Epper, two brothers Dean (Denise) LaLande, Maurice (Janie) LaLande, four sisters Caryle Gamble(Virgil) Seward, Beverly Hafeman Jensen, Eunice (Pat) Hafeman, Wilma (Bob) Fekette, four grandchildren Erik(Heidi) Stoor, Evan Stoor, Eileen and Audrey Klenner, one great grandchild Noah, four step-grandchildren Audra, Peter Denise and J.R. Besides her parents and husbands, Elaine was preceded in death by one brother Valner LaLande, and two sisters Juanita LaLande, and Melba LaLande. Visitation will be Thursday, November 18th at Jacobs-Plowe Funeral Home from 6-8p.m. The VFW Women's Auxiliary will have a prayer service at 6:30p.m. at the funeral home. Funeral services will be Friday, November 19th 11:00a.m. at The United Lutheran Church. Pastor Michael Laakko will officiate. Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery in Crystal Falls.
