Elaine M. Kempa, age 83, of Crystal Falls, died Monday, November 28, 2005, at the Iron County Medical Care Facility, Crystal Falls. She was born September 4, 1922 in Crystal Falls, daughter of the late Joseph and Anne (Brozak) Mlinarcik. In 1946 she married Walter Kempa in Crystal Falls. He preceded her in death on February 14, 1995. Elaine was a homemaker most of her life. She and Walter lived in Chicago Heights, Ill. for several years where he was a U.S. Army Recruiter. They moved back to Crystal Falls in 1978. She was a member of the Guardian Angels Catholic Parish, Crystal Falls. Survivors include two sons, Gerard Kempa, Crystal Falls, James Kempa, Griffith, Ind.; and three grandchildren, Matthew Kempa, Crystal Kempa, and Nicole Kempa. She was preceded in death by three sisters, Celia Watson, Marge Dolan, Mary Voden; and two brothers, Joseph Janov and John Mlinarcik. A Memorial Mass will be held at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, December 1, 2005 at Guardian Angels Catholic Church, Crystal Falls. Rev. Ray Valerio will officiate. Burial will be in the Evergreen Memorial Cemetery, Crystal Falls.
